Influence of anticoagulants on the determination of interferon
1Zentrum der Biologischen Chemie der Universität, Abteilung für Therapeutische Biochemie, Frankfurt/Main, FRG.
The presence of anticoagulants in plasma samples can spuriously increase the titers obtained in interferon bioassays by influencing interactions between the cell and the challenge virus. These artifacts can be eliminated by washing the test cell cultures before the virus challenge is added.
