  • The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDADIS) criteria were employed to assess alcohol use.

  • A total of 349 pharmacy students completed the survey (95.9% cooperation rate).
  • 23.2% of students reported hazardous or harmful alcohol use, and 67.2% reported consuming alcohol at hazardous levels in the past year.
  • Male, single students, and those attending the main campus were more likely to report hazardous alcohol use. Social motives were most common, but coping and enhancement motives predicted harmful use.

Conclusions:

  • Intervention programs and education on alcohol abuse dangers are recommended for pharmacy colleges.
  • Addressing alcohol abuse is critical for the well-being of future pharmacists.
