Can grapheme-color synesthesia be induced by hypnosis?

Hypnotic suggestions did not improve performance on a shape detection task, unlike genuine grapheme-color synesthesia. Induced colors were perceived after, not during, shape detection, suggesting hypnotic colors differ from synesthetic ones.
