Ganglion cell inner plexiform layer thickness (GCIPLT) better reflects macular sensitivity loss in advanced glaucoma than peripapillary retinal nerve fibre layer thickness (pRNFLT). This structure-function relationship is stronger for GCIPLT in severe disease.
