Local anesthetics (LAs) block the sodium channels of nerve trunks, sensory nerve endings, and neuromuscular junctions. Summary

Patients with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) may have reduced corneal sensitivity, increasing their risk for neurotrophic keratitis. Ophthalmic exams are recommended for early detection and vision preservation.
