The association between sleep characteristics and prothrombotic markers in a population-based sample: Chicago Area

Poor sleep quality and short sleep duration are linked to coronary heart disease (CHD). This study found mild sleep impairment is associated with coagulation activation, suggesting a role for fibrinolytic factors in sleep-related thrombosis.

- Further research is needed to explore the role of fibrinolytic factors in sleep-mediated coronary thrombosis.
