New physiotherapy graduates - are we satisfying their needs?

The importance of continuing education and meaningful experience for the physiotherapy graduate is readily acknowledged. It is especially important that new graduates are provided with appropriate opportunities for professional growth, so that they can consolidate and extend their theoretical knowledge and develop skill in its application. This paper raises some questions as to the seriousness with which these issues have been addressed and it highlights areas in which attention might be focussed to ensure the professional development of the new graduate and thereby the strengthening of physiotherapy practice.
