Background:

Rigid endoscopes are crucial in neurosurgery but limited by ergonomics.
Technological advancements are needed to expand endoscope applications.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the intraoperative performance of a novel rigid variable-view endoscope.
Assess its utility in neurosurgical interventions.

Main Methods:

A 4 mm rigid rod lens endoscope with a variable angle of view (15°-90°) was used.
The endoscope was applied in three neurosurgical cases: aneurysm clipping, vestibular schwannoma surgery, and endoscopic third ventriculostomy.

The endoscope allowed safe insertion and visualization of neurovascular structures.
The variable view facilitated targeted positioning and broadens the visual field.
The non-moving tip enhanced safety, though proximity to delicate structures required careful manipulation.
