Summary

Myeloproliferative disorders (MPD) show normal bone marrow stromal cells in chronic phases but altered cells in acute-phase chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Adipocyte colony-forming capacity is increased in chronic MPD but absent in acute CML.
