Abstract:
This article describes a case study of a 42-year-old man who received recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) therapy for treatment of an acute myocardial infarction. The case study describes the nursing management of this patient beginning with the initial assessment for candidacy for rt-PA through the hospital course and follow-up after discharge.
