Brain-derived neurotrophic factor accelerates gut motility in slow-transit constipation

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is crucial for gut motility. Lower BDNF levels in slow-transit constipation (STC) impair gut function by affecting nerve structure and smooth muscle, mediated via the TrkB-PLC/IP3 pathway.
