Does prophylactic anticoagulation prevent PICC-related upper extremity venous thrombosis? A case-control study

Prophylactic anticoagulation may modestly reduce the risk of upper extremity venous thrombosis associated with peripherally inserted central catheters. However, current evidence lacks statistical significance for individual preventive strategies.
