Abstract:
Environmental factors such as allergens and chemicals are known to play an important role in inducing asthma and rhinitis. Extensive studies on the indoor environment demonstrate that indoor home environment has a greater impact than outdoor or occupational environment. In the present paper the Author outlines the risk factors of asthma and rhinitis described up to date in the indoor environment. The possibility of an interaction between allergens, chemical and viruses in inducing asthma and rhinitis is discussed.

Asthma: Pathogenesis and Management
Asthma is classified as allergic and non-allergic. Allergens such as dust mites, pollen, and pet dander trigger allergic asthma, while factors like cold air, intense emotions, or exercise can induce non-allergic asthma.
