Summary

Genetically engineered mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) overexpressing angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) effectively repaired injured endothelium in vitro. These ACE2-modified MSCs show promise for treating acute lung injury (ALI).
