Background:

Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) is a genetic disorder characterized by abnormal development of ectodermal structures, frequently resulting in hypodontia (missing teeth).
Hypodontia in children impacts mastication, speech, and psychosocial development due to altered appearance.

Observation:

A 4-year-old child diagnosed with HED presented with significant hypodontia affecting both dental arches.
The child experienced functional deficits in eating and speech, alongside concerns regarding dental aesthetics.

Findings:

A customized treatment plan involved fabricating a complete denture for the lower arch and a removable partial denture for the upper arch.
The prostheses utilized age-appropriate teeth to restore function and enhance the child's smile, addressing aesthetic concerns.
