Background:

Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans is a Gram-negative coccobacillus.
This bacterium is recognized for its role in periodontal disease and actinomycosis.

Observation:

A patient presented with a chronic right heel wound post-trauma.
The wound culture revealed abundant Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, with no actinomyces species detected.

Findings:

Successful resolution of the chronic wound was achieved with cefpodoxime and surgical debridement.
Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans was identified as the causative agent in this chronic wound case.

Implications:

This case underscores the potential role of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans in chronic wound pathogenesis.
Further research is warranted to explore the significance of this bacterium in chronic wound management.
