[Animal experiment studies of the irritative and allergenic potency of Deshisan]

Deshisan (Manufacturer: VEB Leipziger Arzneimittelwerk) was developed to improve the wound healing conditions. Ulcus cruris is the most important dermatological indication. Animal experiments were performed to examine side effects. The guinea pig maximization test was used to evaluate the allergenic potency. All 19 animals used were negative (control with penicilline: 9 positive out of 18). The acute and subacute dermal toxicity was investigated on the rabbit skin and rabbit eyes. The animal experiments confirmed the clinical findings, that Deshisan is well tolerated by the skin. Allergenic or irritative side effects are unlikely.
