The relationship between cluster and liquid simplification and sentence length, age, and IQ in Down's syndrome...

Twenty-two Down's syndrome children who were 6 years, 6 months to 12 years, 7 months of age were tested to assess the relationships among cluster reduction, liquid simplification and sentence length, age, and IQ. Sentence length was found to be the primary predictor of cluster reduction and liquid simplification in the articulatory productions of Down's syndrome children. The liquid /r/ was generally more difficult than the liquid /l/ for the subjects.
