Background:

Marchiafava-Bignami disease (MBD) is an uncommon neurological condition.
It is primarily associated with chronic alcoholism and characterized by demyelination and necrosis.
The corpus callosum is the main affected area in MBD.

Observation:

This case report presents a patient with Marchiafava-Bignami disease.
The report focuses on the Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging findings.
It also reviews other characteristic imaging features of MBD.

Findings:

MR imaging reveals specific patterns of demyelination and necrosis in the corpus callosum.
Detailed imaging features aid in the diagnosis of MBD.
Radiological findings are crucial for differentiating MBD from other neurological disorders.

Implications:

Accurate MR imaging interpretation is vital for early MBD diagnosis.
