[The effect of psychogenic reaction on the functions of some immune cells]
Abstract:
The functions of immune cells in peripheral blood of 10 patients with psychogenic reaction were observed. The number of monocytes in patients was 33.0 +/- 6.5% lower (P less than 0.001), and the percentage of erythrocyte-rosette of lymphocytes was 34% lower (P less than 0.05) than the corresponding values in normal persons. The release of H2O2 from monocytes of patients was 13.04 +/- 1.38 nmol/2 x 10(6) cells.h, which was much lower than that in normal persons (17.78 +/- 0.92 nmol/2 x 10(6) cells.h, P less than 0.05). Both auto- and allo-MLR were significantly lower than the normal values (P less than 0.01). The results suggest that psychogenic reaction has a powerful inhibitory effect on the function of blood immune cells in humans.
