Background:

Posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy (PPCD) is a rare inherited corneal disease.
Large colloid drusen (LCD) are age-related deposits in Bruch's membrane.

Observation:

A 45-year-old woman presented with clinical features of PPCD affecting her right cornea.
Fundus examination revealed the presence of LCD.

Findings:

The study documents the first reported instance of PPCD and LCD coexisting in the same individual.
Both conditions were diagnosed through slit-lamp biomicroscopy, fundus autofluorescence, and optical coherence tomography.

Implications:

The co-occurrence of PPCD and LCD may indicate a shared underlying mechanism related to collagen abnormalities.
Further research into this potential common pathogenic pathway could offer new insights into both conditions.
