Acute and Chronic Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae Infection in Lambs

Chronic ovine erysipelas, caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, is a multisystemic disease affecting multiple organs, not just joints. This study investigated an outbreak in Norwegian sheep, revealing widespread infection and systemic complications.

- The same bacterial strain caused both acute and chronic manifestations.
