Do transvalvular pacemaker leads influence functional outcome after tricuspid ring annuloplasty?

Permanent pacemaker (PPM) leads do not negatively impact tricuspid valve (TV) repair outcomes. Transvalvular PPM leads are safe and do not increase risks for recurrent tricuspid regurgitation (TR), reoperations, or mortality after TV repair.

- Multivariate analysis confirmed transvalvular PPM presence was not a risk factor for recurrent TR, reoperations, or late mortality.

- Transvalvular PPM leads do not adversely affect functional outcomes after TV ring annuloplasty for functional TR.
- The presence of PPM leads does not increase the risk of TV-related reoperations or late mortality.
- Explantation of transvalvular PPM leads may not be necessary at the time of TV repair.
