Sternal closure with absorbable pins and cords in general thoracic surgery

This study explored absorbable sutures and pins as an alternative to metal wires for sternal closure after median sternotomy. The technique showed promise in selected patients, avoiding complications in those without diabetes mellitus or corticosteroid use.
