    Summary

    Taking vitamin D supplements with a meal containing fat significantly enhances absorption compared to fat-free meals. The type of fat, specifically the monounsaturated-to-polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio, did not affect vitamin D absorption.

    • The specific ratio of MUFA to PUFA in the meal's fat content does not appear to influence vitamin D-3 absorption.
    • Optimizing vitamin D supplementation may involve co-administration with meals containing fat.
