Summary

Nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker, was found to inhibit arginine vasopressin (AVP)-stimulated adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol release in healthy individuals. This suggests nifedipine may block calcium channels involved in the pituitary response to AVP.
