Oxidative/Nitrosative Stress in Patients With Modic Changes: Preliminary Controlled Study.

Oxidative and nitrosative stress are elevated in patients with Modic changes (MCs) type I, indicating an imbalance that may cause lesions. Increased antioxidant activity in MC types II and III may be an adaptive response to stress.

- Findings highlight the differential role of oxidative/nitrosative stress in the progression of Modic changes.
