Summary

This study found that 10% citric acid and 1% tetracycline hydrochloride are effective alternatives to 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) for smear layer removal in root canals. These irrigating solutions demonstrate comparable efficacy to EDTA when used with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite.
