Does metformin have a "buffer effect" on serum TSH levels in euthyroid diabetic patients?

Metformin may influence thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in euthyroid patients with type 2 diabetes. This study observed a slight increase in TSH after metformin treatment, particularly in those with lower baseline TSH levels.
