Summary

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) can predict visual outcomes in eyes with macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). Measuring the total cross-sectional macular area with OCT preoperatively helps predict postoperative best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA).
