Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is linked to prolonged left atrial (LA) electromechanical delays (EDs) and impaired LA mechanical function. These findings highlight potential cardiac risks associated with MetS.

- These findings suggest that MetS adversely affects atrial electrophysiology and mechanics, potentially contributing to cardiovascular risk.
