DXA Utilization Between 2006 and 2012 in Commercially Insured Younger Postmenopausal Women

Declining reimbursement for dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans has led to decreased utilization. This study shows a significant drop in DXA scans for women aged 50-64 after July 2009, correlating with reimbursement changes.
