1Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina (Ms Meyer); and Patient Safety Enhancement Program and Center for Clinical Management Research, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and VA Medical Center and University of Michigan Health System (Dr Chopra). Britt Meyer, MSN, RN, CRNI®, VA-BC, NE-BC, leads the Duke University Hospital Vascular Access Team and serves as chair for the Duke University Health System Council on Intravenous Access. Ms Meyer's work focuses on prevention of vascular catheter-related complications and uses an infusion team approach as a foundation. She currently serves as presidential advisor for the INS Board of Directors and is completing a PhD in nursing. Vineet Chopra, MD, MSc, is an assistant professor of medicine and research scientist at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. His research is dedicated to improving the safety of hospitalized patients, specifically focusing on identification and prevention of complications such as infection and thrombosis associated with peripherally inserted central catheters. Dr Chopra is supported by a Career Development Award from the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He is the 2014 recipient of the McDevitt Award for Research Excellence and the Society of Hospital Medicine Young Investigator Award.
