Summary

Achieving diversity in nursing education requires inclusion and quality. An Inclusive Excellence framework and a diversity dashboard can help nursing programs better reflect the diverse populations they serve.

Background:

Growing attention on diversity in higher education and the nursing workforce.
Current nursing student demographics in the U.S. do not mirror the general population.
Inclusion and quality are essential for successful diversity initiatives in nursing education.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore the use of the Inclusive Excellence framework to promote diversity, inclusion, and excellence in nursing programs.
To examine an accelerated nursing program's potential for promoting diversity using a business-oriented dashboard approach.

Main Methods:

Application of the Inclusive Excellence framework, linking diversity and excellence through metrics.
Utilizing a dashboard approach with specific metrics to assess an accelerated nursing program.
Analysis of diversity metrics within a selected accelerated nursing program.

Main Results:

Accelerated nursing programs present opportunities for enhancing diversity.
A metric-driven dashboard approach can be applied to assess diversity in nursing programs.
