Health sciences students perceive less stress when they have a positive attitude towards computer technology. Proper use of technology can be a method for stress management.
Area of Science:
- Health Sciences Education
- Psychology
Background:
- Student well-being is crucial in health sciences education.
- Understanding the interplay between technology attitudes and stress is important for student support.
Purpose of the Study:
- To determine health sciences students' attitudes towards perceived stress.
- To assess students' attitudes towards computer technologies.
- To examine the relationship between stress and computer technology attitudes.
Main Methods:
- Descriptive study design.
- Questionnaire administered to 764 health sciences students.
- Data analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and regression analysis.
Main Results:
- Female students (mean=3.78) showed more positive computer technology attitudes than male students (mean=3.62).
- A significant regression model (F=16.291; p<0.005) was found between computer technology attitude (CTA) and perceived stress (PS).
- A negative relationship exists: increased CTA correlates with decreased PS (r=-0.275).
Conclusions:
- Positive attitudes towards computer technology are linked to lower perceived stress.
- Effective use of computer technologies can be integrated into stress-coping strategies.
- Interventions promoting positive technology engagement may aid stress reduction in health sciences students.
