[Assessment of autonomic nervous system function in patients with generalized periodontitis]

The 56 patients with different stages of generalized periodontitis were investigated using a simplified A. M. Veĭn (1971) routine. The clear preponderance of sympathetic autonomic responses over the parasympathetic ones was evident. Besides, a compensatory activation of parasympathetic nervous system was reflected in inversion responses to clinostatic and Ashner tests.
