Normal saline versus heparin solution to lock totally implanted venous access devices: Results from a multicenter

Normal saline flushing did not prove non-inferior to heparin flushing for maintaining totally implanted venous access devices (TIVADs) patency. No significant difference in occlusion rates was found between the two flushing solutions.
