Rapid maxillary expansion: Do banded teeth develop more external root resorption than non-banded anchorage teeth?

Orthodontic rapid maxillary expansion (RME) using either bands or wires caused external root resorption (ERR) in all treated teeth. Partial repair was observed, with no significant difference in ERR between the two anchorage methods.
