VLA4 Gene Polymorphism and Susceptibility to Multiple Sclerosis in Slovaks

Genetic variations in the VLA4 gene are linked to multiple sclerosis (MS) risk. A specific VLA4 polymorphism (3061AG) was identified as an independent risk factor for MS in the Slovak population.

- Immune cell migration to the central nervous system (CNS) involves the Very Late Antigen 4 (VLA-4) integrin.
