Abstract:
Erlotinib is a molecule that selectively inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase activity. The authors present a case that exemplifies the use of erlotinib as second line therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This case is about a 76 years old woman, non-smoker, with advanced lung adenocarcinoma (stage IIIB) previously treated with two cycles of standard chemotherapy, which were interrupted by serious adverse reactions.
