Background:

- To determine the predominant Hepatitis B Virus genotypes in the general population of Shahrekord, Southwestern Iran.

- A cluster sampling method enrolled 3000 individuals from the general population.
- Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) screening was performed using ELISA.
