Abstract:
Use of a sheathless 6.5-F guide may provide an option for transradial access in patients with smaller radial arteries or in need of a larger diameter guide. This sheathless system avoids many of the problems inherent in home-made systems as it is hydrophilic coated and has a tight interface between components reducing vascular trauma on insertion. Advantages of this system need to be weighed against its relative thermal instability for support, while its low-resistance from hydrophilic coatings gives a different.
