Abstract:
This article describes the unit-based quality assurance program functioning at one institution for the past 3 years. Included are a brief look at the role of the clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in quality assurance, a description of the implementation of a unit-based approach, discussion of how one unit functioned within the program, a description of activities accomplished, and the effects on the practice of one CNS.
