Peribulbar versus retrobulbar anaesthesia for cataract surgery

Peribulbar (PB) and retrobulbar (RB) anesthesia offer comparable pain control and akinesia for cataract surgery. Both methods are effective, with rare severe complications, though chemosis is more common with PB and lid hematoma with RB.
