Purpose Of Review:
Several new agents have been investigated in sarcoidosis. As the outcome measures in these trials has varied, it is often difficult to compare different treatment regimens or to combine clinical trials of the same regimen. The present review will assess the various potential endpoints, including physiologic, chest imaging, and health-related quality of life.
Recent Findings:
Individual endpoints in pulmonary sarcoidosis trials have been studied and compared to response to several drugs. A panel of sarcoidosis experts as convened to enumerate the various potential endpoints and also voted on the relative importance of these endpoints as primary and secondary endpoints in sarcoidosis clinical trials.
Summary:
There are several potential endpoints in clinical trials. These endpoints may also prove useful in clinical practice.
