Abstract:
Five patients with ashy dermatitis are described, aged 6 to 14, one boy and four girls. The process is characterized by dirty grayish or ash-gray-colored maculae on the skin of the trunk and limbs. These maculae do not tend to fuse, nor exfoliate; they are not associated with any subjective sensations. Thorough examinations have not revealed any osteomuscular or visceral abnormalities. The disease runs a benign course, and only the cosmetic defect worries the patients.
