For high-risk neonates with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) undergoing Norwood operation, the strategy of bilateral pulmonary artery banding and ductal stenting is risky in case of coarctation of the aorta (CoA), often resulting in death. Therefore, we devised a new method of ductal stenting with side-branch cell dilation, which could overcome the constriction of the ductal arch with CoA in two HLHS patients.
