Gallbladder duplication, a rare congenital condition, can cause complications if not diagnosed. This case highlights the successful treatment of gallbladder duplication using single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS), a novel approach.

Background:

Gallbladder duplication is a rare congenital anomaly with a prevalence of 1-3 per 3800 individuals.
Undiagnosed duplication can lead to biliary tract injuries and postoperative complications, potentially requiring reoperation.
Conventional laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has been used for treatment, but single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) has not been previously reported.

Purpose of the Study:

To present a case of gallbladder duplication treated successfully with SILS cholecystectomy.
To explore the feasibility and efficacy of SILS for this rare anomaly.

Main Methods:

A 58-year-old female patient with diagnosed gallbladder duplication underwent surgery.

SILS may offer advantages in managing this rare congenital anomaly, potentially reducing morbidity.
