A fast-responsive fluorescent probe for sulfite and its bioimaging

A new fluorescent probe, Coumarin-SO2, enables rapid, sensitive, and selective detection of sulfite (SO3(2-)) in water. This probe is also effective for imaging sulfite in living cells.
