    • To assess the impact of body mass index (BMI), oral contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, smoking, and alcohol consumption on BAC presence and intensity.
    • To determine if mammography findings of BAC can identify women with these lifestyle-attributable risk factors.

    • Prospective study of 300 women aged 47-69, divided into BAC (n=149) and control (n=151) groups.

    Conclusions:

    • Mammographic detection of BAC is inadequate for identifying women with lifestyle-attributable risk factors such as high BMI, hormone replacement therapy, smoking, and alcohol consumption.
    • Oral contraceptive use and smoking show a potential association with BAC.
    • Further research is needed to refine the assessment of cardiovascular risk using mammographic findings and lifestyle factors.
